Professional Sculptor from Los Angeles. Working freelance in the industry. Employers include Legendary Pictures, Dreamworks, Triad Toys, Entangled Entertainment, 13 Coins, along with many others. Specializing in creating and designing creatures and characters using traditional sculpting techniques to create production models and maquettes.
Hector Arce learned sculpting while attending El Camino College in Torrance, CA from professor Russ McMillian and then furthered his skills while attending Cal State Long Beach. Hector started off with small scale commissions with the philosophy of giving the client an original and one of a kind piece at a reasonable price. The focus was to help up and coming businesses in the comic book and movie industries visualize and realize their characters in a 3D statue format. This eventually led to work with much larger production studios such as Legendary Pictures, Warner Bros and DreamWorks working one and one with producers and directors for such projects as Godzilla, Lost Patrol, Robo Apocalypse and Harlem Dogs.
Hector is currently the founder of Mute City Productions, an up and coming design company specializing in models and production maquettes.
Aside from working with larger scale studios, Hector still enjoys taking on smaller scale commissions from anyone interested in realizing their creations in a 3D sculpture format. All with the idea that in order to be successful in art, you must be willing to share your art.
Feel free to contact Hector directly if you or your company is interested in a custom statue, production model, maquette, or display figure for your comic con, wonder con, or any con's booth or table.
